My Story

Arsalan Khan

My name is Arsalan Khan and I am a Speaker, Advisor, and Blogger on Business and Digital Transformations.

When I was 9 years old, my dad brought a cream-colored rectangular box, a small TV, a typewriter with no place to put the paper in, a small palm-sized device and a bunch of wires to connect all of them to our home. This was our first home computer and I was interested in learning more about it.

My interest in computers grew into a passion in middle school and I decided that I wanted to work in the computer industry. This decision led me to pursue my Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences with minors in Business Administration and Mathematics from Bishop’s University in Canada. It was also in Canada that I got my first taste of the computer industry by working as a computer consultant for Bishop’s University.

Over the years, I have had many experiences as an individual contributor and upper management in the computer industry working with small and large organizations. Along the way, I have also attained Corporate Executive Leadership certification from Georgetown University, a Chief Information Officer (CIO) certification from The George Washington University and a Master of Science in Information Systems Technology summa cum laude from The George Washington University.

Underlying Theme

The combination of my professional experience and educational background has given me a few prospectives on what individuals and organizations can do to be successful. This led me to develop my own framework for assessing organizations. This framework is called SPICE which stands for Strategy, Politics, Innovation, Culture and Execution and it is shown below:

The SPICE Factors

I believe that the fundamental ways organizations’ can transform themselves is through an honest and holistic understanding of:

  1. Where they are today
  2. Where they want to be tomorrow
  3. What steps they need to take to reach tomorrow

Thus, the underlying theme of my experiences and Khan’s Blog is Business Transformation. What this means is that,

Khan’s Blog helps individuals and organizations pursue a better version of themselves.
